Fay Alice seeks to create modern, feminine clothing by drawing inspiration from inconspicuous, everyday objects, which have a story to tell: a vintage dress, an old piece of lace, a faded book cover, an old bus-stop sign, which is merely hanging on a hinge?

The combination of seemingly contradictory elements is a recurring theme in the collections of the label: light silk dresses are elaborated with torn tulle details; they are hand-painted or matched with menswear-inspired pieces.
The label was originally founded in London by designer Faye Smith. In 2008, Faye, who had grown up directly on the western side of the Berlin Wall, moved her base to the former East Berlin to explore the developments in her own city. With added committment, all garments are produced there too.
